Auditions

Strings will audition on Sunday, August 16th. Please use this link to sign up for a time.

Winds, brass and percussion auditions will happen at specific times on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Please see below.

1. Schedule (in performance hall unless otherwise noted)
   1. Percussion: Sun, 7:30-8:00PM 2340
   2. Trumpet: Sun, 8:15PM
   3. Oboe: Mon, 4:00-4:40
   4. Clarinet: Mon, 4:40-5:20
   5. Flute: Tues, 6:00-6:40
   6. Trombone: Tues, 6:40-7:20
   7. Horn: Tues, 7:20-8:00
2. Blind auditions
   1. These auditions will be blind, meaning that I will not know who is playing. Please play one major and one melodic minor scale (your choice of articulations), the excerpts, and any sight-reading (TBD).
3. Please arrive at the beginning of the designated time window for your instrument group; the proctor will use a randomizer to determine the order of auditions for those present. If you have a question during the audition, raise your hand and the proctor will discuss your question with you backstage.
4. Important If you cannot make one of these time windows, or if you cannot be there for the entirety of the scheduled time for your instrument, please do not let me know, as your audition will then cease to be blind. Please instead write to graduate assistant conductor Evan O’Day (bd25423@truman.edu) with the times you are available, who will then coördinate a time with me.
